Position Summary
Hours of Work
- Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 3:30 pm - 12:00 am
- Occasional overtime available
We are seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our Electrical team. This role plays a critical part in providing technical expertise, ensuring quality installations, and supporting the growth and mentorship of apprentices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and industrial electrical work, an understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform installation, replacement, repair, and testing of electrical circuits, controls, panel boxes, and wiring systems, ensuring alignment with HVAC system requirements.
- Interpret and apply the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) to ensure all electrical work complies with current safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct quality installations per electrical and HVAC system design specifications, upholding best practices and internal standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues, isolate faults, and carry out timely and accurate repairs to minimize downtime in production or field operations.
- Complete all required quality control documentation, installation reports, and compliance records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Mentor and support electrical apprentices, fostering a collaborative, team-first work environment to enhance skill development and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification required
- Minimum 5 years of electrical experience in Alberta (HVAC experience is an asset)
- Strong understanding of electrical prints, diagrams, and schematics
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver quality work under pressure
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience installing rigid conduit is an asset
- Ability to operate necessary tools and equipment for service projects
- Willingness to mentor and collaborate with others in a team setting

ICE Western’s purpose was to take on the production of highly complex HVAC units not suited for the main plant. Now ICE Western’s state of the art industrial manufacturing facility is located on 5 acres in South Foothills Industrial Park Calgary Alberta.
