Principal Responsibilities:

  • Develops annual budget and financial forecasts; monitors expenditures and revenue
  • Analyzes monthly performance reports and implements strategies to improve profitability
  • Oversees daily operations including scheduling, workflow, and resource planning
  • Monitors technician productivity, efficiency, and overall work quality
  • Hires, trains, mentors, and evaluates body shop staff, ensuring ongoing development
  • Manages estimates, invoicing, and insurance claim tracking with attention to accuracy
  • Enforces company policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Provides regular updates to senior leadership and participates in management meetings
  • Reviews and closes repair orders, tracks work in progress, and ensures timely billing
  • Identifies new revenue opportunities and process improvements
  • Establishes performance goals and communicates expectations clearly to the team
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and insurance partners

Required Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Certification as a Body Shop Technician
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in the heavy-duty truck body shop industry
  • Proven leadership experience in a body shop or service management role
  • Strong customer service background with experience in client-facing situations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and dealership management software
  • In-depth understanding of estimating processes, repair procedures, and insurance protocols
  • Knowledge of federal, provincial, and local regulations impacting body shop operations
