Position Title: Bartender
Department: Food and Beverage
Reports to: Manager, Food and Beverage or designate

Job Summary: Bartenders are be responsible for preparing and serving beverages in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. This role is expected to know standard drink recipes and be able to mix them quickly and accurately while adapting to individual guest preferences. It is a critical role in ensuring responsible alcohol service, guest safety, and creating a welcoming, positive atmosphere for all patrons. This position may require flexibility to assist in other areas of food and beverage operations as needed.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes or customer specifications
- Greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, ensuring a high level of service at all times
- Take beverage orders, serve drinks promptly, and process payments accurately
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including wiping counters, cleaning bar tools, and washing glassware
- Arrange bottles and barware neatly and ensure the bar is well-stocked at all times
- Clean up after guests and reset bar area for the next service period
- Prepare garnishes such as slicing fruit for drinks
- Set up and close down bar areas according to established procedures
- Complete all required daily log sheets and checklists accurately
- Remove empty bottles, replace beer kegs, and dispose of waste following proper safety procedures
- Assist with basic food service if required based on business volume or staffing needs
- Required to determine when a customer has had too much alcohol, stop serving and ensure a safe ride home is arranged.
- Support other departments as needed, depending on operational demands
- Attend all required pre-season and in-season training
Key Qualifications:
- Smart Serve Certification (required)
- Previous serving or hospitality experience (asset)
- Safe Food Handling Certificate (REG 493) is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and within a team
- Able to handle high-pressure and fast-paced environments with professionalism
- Comfortable with repetitive lifting (up to 45 lbs / 20.4 kg) and standing for long periods
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to providing outstanding guest service
- Able to complete physically demanding duties as required
- Bilingualism is considered an asset

- Must be flexible with scheduling – including evenings, weekends, holidays, and shift coverage
