Product Development & Marketing Coordinator
Woodbridge, Ontario · Full-time, in-person
ITN Food Corporation is seeking a Product Development & Marketing Coordinator to help bring new products to market, support our brand relaunch, keep our inventory planning on track, and work closely with senior management day to day. This role reports directly to the Director of Procurement & Marketing, and full training will be provided from the ground up. We are candid about who we are looking for. We do not expect a candidate who already knows the food business inside out. We are looking for someone organized, reliable, and genuinely eager to learn, who wants to build a career here rather than move on after a short stay. The successful candidate will be mentored closely and given real responsibility early, and the role will grow with their performance.
About Us
ITN Food Corporation has been making and distributing spices, chutneys, condiments, and grocery products for more than 30 years. We serve South Asian households across North America through our own brands (Desi, Minar, ITN, Panj Derya) and through premium brands we import from India and Pakistan. We are a family-run business that moves quickly and stays practical, and the work you do here reaches real shelves.
The Role
The work falls into four areas, approximately:
- New product development and compliance — about 35%
- Marketing and brand coordination — about 25%
- Demand planning and inventory — about 25%
- Support to senior management — about 15%
The successful candidate will move between these areas week to week. Much of the role is coordination: securing the right information from the right people and keeping projects moving so they are completed on schedule.
New Product Development and Compliance (~35%)
We are currently relaunching a range of products and artwork alongside our suppliers and designers. You will own the day-to-day communication between suppliers, designers, and our QA team, track the status of every project, and drive projects toward faster completion. You will also approach new suppliers for pricing, samples, and lead times so that we can evaluate new product opportunities. Compliance is a significant part of this work. You will review labels against Canadian requirements (CFIA, FDR, SFCR, and Quebec’s Bill 96), including ingredient lists, allergens, Nutrition Facts tables, English and French accuracy, net quantity, importer information, date coding, claims, and front-of-package symbols. Working with QA, you will help build and verify Nutrition Facts tables and review French translations. Accuracy here is essential, and you will be trained thoroughly on these requirements.
Marketing and Brand Coordination (~25%)
Our marketing team handles the design work for branding and social media. Your responsibility is to keep the work moving: helping to plan campaigns, briefing designers, routing feedback, tracking revisions, and managing the calendar so that the right materials are released on time. We have invested significantly in our rebrand, and this role helps bring it to market.
Demand Planning and Inventory (~25%)
You will help determine what we need and when, so that the right products remain in stock without over-ordering. This includes tracking purchase orders, incoming shipments, and stock levels, identifying shortages or overstock early, and planning around peak periods such as Ramadan. You will also help maintain accurate figures in Spire, our ERP system.
Support to Senior Management (~15%)
You will work directly with the Director on day-to-day priorities: arranging meetings, preparing agendas, recording action items and following them through to completion, keeping records organized, and preparing the summaries and follow-ups that keep priorities on track. This is the part of the role that places you closest to how the business operates, and for the right person it is where the fastest learning takes place.
What we are looking for
Essential
- Strong organization and attention to detail. You notice small errors and follow through until tasks are complete.
- Clear communication, and the confidence to follow up with suppliers, designers, and colleagues until you have what you need.
- Working knowledge of Excel (formulas, filters, lookups, and basic trackers).
- A genuine interest in food, products, and brands, and a desire to stay and grow. We invest heavily in training and are looking for someone committed for the long term.
- Located in Canada, legally authorized to work here, and able to work full-time, in person, at our Woodbridge office.
Assets (any of the following will help you stand out)
- French in addition to English. This is a considerable asset given the volume of bilingual label work.
- A diploma or degree in food science, nutrition, business, marketing, supply chain, engineering, or a related field. New graduates are welcome to apply.
- Exposure to food labelling, CFIA/FDR requirements, or the preparation of Nutrition Facts tables.
- Experience coordinating marketing, reviewing artwork, or working with designers.
- Experience with an ERP or inventory system (Spire or similar).
- An interest in South Asian or international grocery.
Attitude and reliability matter more to us than a lengthy résumé. We will teach you the products, the systems, and the regulations.
What this role offers
- Direct training and mentorship from senior management.
- A rare breadth of experience across product, brand, compliance, and supply chain early in your career.
- Ownership of meaningful work on products distributed across North America.
- Growth in both responsibility and compensation as you take on more.
Compensation and Details of Employment
- Salary: $60,000 per year, with room to grow as responsibilities expand.
- Benefits: paid time off, on-site parking, and employee discounts.
- Full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday on-site. A short Saturday shift (8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon) may be worked from home when needed; it is not always required. Additional hours occasionally come up for international supplier calls or time-sensitive launches.
- In person at our Woodbridge, Ontario office.
