POSITION OVERVIEW
The National Director of Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the sales organization across Canada. This individual will drive the national sales strategy, lead high-performing teams, and deliver significant revenue growth in a competitive market. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in distribution, a proven track record of sales leadership, and the ability to scale performance across regions.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales Leadership & Strategy: Develop and execute a national sales strategy aligned with corporate goals. Lead, coach, and mentor regional and national sales teams. Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results.
- Business Development: Drive growth through new customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts. Build long-term relationships with key customers and partners. Identify strategic opportunities within target markets.
- Sales Operations & Process Excellence: Implement standardized opportunity and pipeline management processes. Champion CRM adoption and ensure data integrity and usage compliance. Develop and enforce a national sales playbook and methodology. Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing on demand generation and sales enablement. Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Customer Success to align sales efforts with customer needs.
- Executive Communication: Provide regular updates to executive leadership on sales performance and market trends. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, including national or multi-regional scope.
- Proven success in implementing sales processes and CRM systems.
- Experience in Industrial Distribution is a strong asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong leadership, analytical, and executive communication skills.
- Highly motivated individual who shows initiative and is focused on achieving results while contributing to a positive, can-do culture.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
