Primary Objective of the Position:

Under the direction of the Vice President, Cargojet Movement Control, the Global Operations Specialist position shall be responsible for leading all charter and ACMI logistics planning, coordination, and mission execution. This includes coordinating all operational aspects, such as aircraft, tentative schedules, crew, ground handling, internal communications and regulatory approvals to ensure global safe and compliant charter operations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for Charter Sales Department for charter and fit check requests;
  • Coordinate with Flight Dispatch for required block hours needed for charter schedule requests;
  • Schedule building for charter requests;
  • Confirming aircraft availability;
  • Slot applications and management for charter operations;
  • Confirm that stations have assigned loadmaster and maintenance support;
  • Provide back up relief to Charter Operations Manager and Charter Operations Supervisor;
  • Coordinate with ULD Management to ensure sufficient stock is available and/or prepared for charter operations;
  • Processing flight envelopes, trip reports, fuel slips and other flight documentation;
  • Assisting with charter quotes and flight permits;
  • Assisting with operational data reconciliation and quality assurance processes;
  • Validating invoices for airport activity, overflights, and air navigation system usage;
  • Assisting with internal and external reporting requirements;
  • Additional duties as required by the Charter Operations Manager; and
  • Fulfill all SMS Duties and Responsibilities required of employees by Section 2.2.6 FOM.
  • Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned to support the smooth conduct of the operations, and other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field preferred or a combination of education and experience.
  • High degree of accountability and attention to detail.
  • Must possess and display an anticipatory and proactive work style.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, and comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Adaptability to quick-changing situations.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Ability to work rotating day and night shift and overtime as required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others.
  • Excellent computer skills required (MS Office). Previous experience with data management/analysis tools (Excel, PowerBI) is an asset.
  • Must have authorization to work in Canada for any employer.
  • Candidates who have already completed the Transport Canada Generic Flight Dispatcher exams (FDOPS, FDMET) will be given preference, but not a requirement.
