Will you be the next Administrative Specialist to join the Shared Services HR Expertise and Time team? We are looking for someone who will provide administrative expertise to support the Senior Specialist and/or Manager in the management of activities and the identification, sourcing, and allocation of resources, whether material, human or financial. While work must conform to CBC operating standards, HR Policies, collective agreements, current tax legislation, labor standards and administrative procedures, there is both an opportunity and a requirement for independent judgment, analysis and decision-making within a complex set of parameters.
Work is subject only to general review and there may be a requirement to coordinate the work of others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise and analysis at the departmental level to develop short- and long-range plans and facilitate decisions involving resources, schedules or departmental policies or procedures.
- Understand and apply all rules for various collective agreements to calculate employee service dates.
- Review queries from employees, managers and/or timekeepers to adjust timecard entries.
- Produce and analyze bi-weekly audit reports, as well as request the correction from the appropriate group or make corrections as required.
- Analyze employee salary files to determine effective dates for step increases.
- Analyze and update the payroll system for short-term accruals to leave banks.
- Analyze complex files and reports, then resolve and correct issues or make recommendations, as required.
- Compile information and prepare reports, either as part of routine reporting requirements or in response to special requests from within or outside the unit, department or operation.
- Responsible for documenting and maintaining internal procedures and templates.
- Provide familiarization and support to other SSC team members, as required.
- May be asked to review and audit work performed by team members or other Shared Services teams.
- Liaise with other teams such as HR, IR, Compensation, System Support, Analytics.
- Work with highly confidential and sensitive information concerning employee files.
Qualifications
You are responsible for providing an updated resumé and highlighting the qualifications and skills required for this position.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Requires post-secondary education or equivalent.
- Requires 2 years of experience at CBC or similar organization in related fields.
- Written and oral bilingualism essential (French / English).
- Knowledge of human resources policies, payroll technologies, collective agreements, as well as an understanding of federal and provincial legislation.
- Accuracy and attention to detail required.
- Extensive knowledge of pay processing systems, such as Workday.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage several priorities and meet multiple, tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Discretion, diplomacy and tact in communications, both written and oral.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent judgment, initiative, analytical skills and resourcefulness.
- Ability to work overtime.
