Position Overview
We are currently seeking a compassionate and self-driven Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to support two paediatric clients in the North York area—one located in Vaughan and the other in North York. Our clients are between 6 and 16 years old.
Schedule
- Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (overnight shifts)
- Shifts range from 8–9 hours, typically 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Ongoing, consistent schedule
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene, bathing, and medication administration, within nursing scope of practice
- Deliver exceptional patient care in accordance with individualized care plans
- Monitor and document clients’ medical conditions and physical/mental responses
- Support safe use of equipment and ensure client safety at all times
- Assist with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and prescribed exercises
- Maintain accurate and thorough records and documentation
- Practice safely and competently within the limits of your experience, knowledge, and job description
Requirements
Preferred to have Paediatric experience with any of the following interventions:
- Non-invasive ventilators (bipap/cpap)
- G and J tube feeding
- Suctioning
- Bi-pap or C-pap
- Cough assist
- Oxygenation
Other requirements include:
- An asset if you own vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)
- Negative TB Test completed within the last year
- CNO Registration and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Certificate
- COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
- Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
