The Opportunity Innovate and Lead – As Head of Privacy, AI and Technology Law – Americas, you will shape how WSP navigates complex AI, technology and privacy landscapes across the United States, Canada, and Latin America & the Caribbean. Reporting to WSP’s Chief Privacy, AI and Data Responsibility Officer, you’ll oversee the implementation of global privacy and AI programs in the Americas and provide strategic legal support for the development, commercialization, and procurement of digital solutions that power WSP’s global impact.
Your Impact In this role, you will:
- Act as a primary point of contact and trusted advisor on AI, IT, privacy and data law matters across the Americas.
- Supervise local Privacy & Responsible AI representatives to ensure cohesive, highquality program delivery across all jurisdictions.
- Implement global policies and procedures, adapting them to comply with U.S., Canadian, and Latin American & Caribbean laws and regulations.
- Advise on “compliance by design” for technology solutions, embedding privacy, AI and data protection requirements into WSP’s digital products and services.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional partners (Legal, IT, Information Security, Procurement, Marketing & Communications, Ethics & Compliance) to manage legal risks related to responsible AI, commercial IT, privacy and data protection.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and AI risk assessments, advising on mitigation strategies and compliance actions.
- Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments in the Americas, translating changes into actionable guidance and updates to the program.
- Serve as a primary point of contact with data protection authorities and regulators in the region, including supporting incident response, notification and reportability assessments.
- Advise and negotiate commercial IT, data protection and AIrelated clauses in agreements with clients, partners and suppliers, and support due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Develop and deliver training programs that elevate privacy, AI and data law awareness across the Americas and contribute to internal and external thought leadership.

- You are an active member of a U.S. and a Canadian bar, with membership in a Latin American bar considered an asset.
- You bring at least 10 years of experience practicing law, focused on commercial IT and privacy across the Americas.
- You have direct experience with key regional privacy regimes such as CCPA (U.S.), PIPEDA and Law 25 (Canada), and laws like Brazil’s LGPD and other Latin American & Caribbean regulations.
- You have advised multinational organizations on global AI, IT, privacy and data protection matters and are comfortable working at executive level.
- You offer strong analytical skills and deliver practical, businessoriented solutions in complex, highrisk environments.
- You are a teamoriented leader with the ability to persuade, influence and guide stakeholders across regions and functions.
- You can work independently, manage multiple projects in a fastpaced environment, and anticipate needs with a proactive mindset.
- You hold a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US or CIPP/C) designation.
- You are bilingual (English and French), enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders across the Americas and WSP’s global network. Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset.

Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $194,700 – $257,900 MB & ON: $177,600 – $244,600 NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $175,800 – $233,500 Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
