About the role
Foremost has immediate openings for B-Pressure welders located at our north facility in Lloydminster, AB. This position will work with Lead Hands, Charge Hands and Foremen to ensure continuous improvements using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and semi-automatic welding processes.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding: gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding
- (FCAW), shield metal arc welding (SMAW)
- Operate and maintain flame-cutting and plasma arc cutting equipment
- Conduct repairs, modifications and retrofits
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Align components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (flat, vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
- Monitor parts usage and report on any material issues
- Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance and repair techniques
- Ensure compliance with Industry, Legislative, and corporate Safety policies and procedures
- Assist in training and directing less trained personnel with work methods, work habits and performance
- Recommend changes to improve quality and productions costs
- Operation of overhead crane

B-Pressure Ticket

Interprovincial Red Seal or CWB tickets an asset

Sub-Arc experience a definite asset

Safety training an asset but willing to train as required
