POSITION SUMMARY:
Corrpro Canada is currently seeking an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in the Lower Mainland, BC, Edmonton, AB or Calgary, AB. This is a full-time, permanent position.
The Engineer I/EIT plans and performs duties involved with evaluation, design and check-out of cathodic protection systems and other corrosion control system.
WHAT YOU’RE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Conduct various field tests to gather data for evaluation purposes.
- Conduct post-installation surveys, complete interference testing and energize rectifier systems.
- Organize and reduce data gathered, prepare charts and tables.
- Assemble field data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations.
- Diagnose and recommend remedies for system difficulties observed during resurvey operations.
- Recommend modifications to senior personnel for approval.
- Assist senior personnel in the preparation of survey and design reports and final job reports.
- Assist senior personnel in analyzing requirements and the design of appropriate corrosion control measures.
- Provide maintenance of field test equipment, ensure good operation condition and render minor repairs.
- Correspond and verbally communicate in a professional manner with customers.
- Represent Corrpro in a professional manner, with a high degree of respect for all existing and potential customers.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Provide technical supervision and technical assistance to other divisions within the company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-**Education and/or Experience:**Bachelor of Science in Engineering; preferred Materials, Metallurgical, or Electrical Engineering, Engineer-in-training (EIT) status preferred, AMPP CP1 certification or exposure to cathodic protection considered an asset, previous field experience considered an asset. -**Language Skills:**Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information to individuals or groups (management, clients, customers, general public) and respond to questions. -**Mathematical Skills:**Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and apply basic statistical, algebraic and geometric concepts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volumes, etc. -**Reasoning Skills:**Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists and interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

-Interpersonal Skills**:Position requires individual to have strong interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and empower, to be a strong communicator able to take initiative and function independently. -Personal Attributes:Possesses and applies comprehensive engineering knowledge on assignments. -Computer-Based:**Ability to work with complex spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software. Ability to learn new applications quickly. Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point) required.
