THE ROLE As a Senior Business Analyst, Pension Administration, you will bring a wealth of Pension Services knowledge and experience with you, combined with BA skills to communicate needs to vendors, technical audiences, training and support teams.

The role will require you work closely with our Pension Services team to determine requirements for prioritized initiatives, perform various analyze work to help determine solutions, and help validate those solutions. This role will be responsible for collecting, analyzing and presenting different analysis materials for priorities identified by your business partner. This involves collaborating closely with multiple constituents and senior management across the organization, including vendors.

Reporting to Senior Director, Pension Services Delivery, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of business analysis practices and development of cloud-based systems, tools, policies, and processes.

This role is based in downtown Toronto in a hybrid work environment, allowing employees the flexibility to work remotely and in-office (minimum two days per week in-office).

Specific Accountabilities

  • Engage with business partners and vendors to identify requirements for key initiatives, including outcomes, objectives, scope, and functionality.
  • Perform and present analysis with appropriate detail and quality (e.g., business and functional requirements, requirements traceability, workflows, data mapping, current/future state, etc.).
  • Analyze and prioritize business requirements into various solution options by measuring and communicating the proposed benefits of options.
  • Create “user” type documentation (e.g., employer kits, internal procedure manuals, standard operating procedures and process documentation).
  • Analyze existing processes and contribute to the improvement of current practices and processes by implementing recommendations in consultation with business partners.
  • Ability to understand legislative and regulatory requirements and turn them into system requirements and changes to pension services operating processes
  • Participate in testing activities as required (define approach, write test cases, execute test cases).
  • Assist with leading BA standards and practices and drive BA selection and planning activities, including coaching and mentor junior BA’s.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience with pension plan administration systems and member services is a must.
  • 8-10 years of work experience in a business analysis and/or pension services role.
  • Proven business analysis skills in stakeholder management, facilitating requirement workshops, use case creation, and requirements documentation management.
  • Proficient in test scenario design, test case writing, and test management documentation.
  • Adept at process analysis, design, improvement and process flow documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, analytical software, data analysis and visualization reporting techniques (PowerBI, Domo).

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Passion for business analysis as a craft & demonstrated continuous learning in the field.
  • Previous experience in a Business Analysis lead role.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional, CFA, process improvement methodology accreditation.
  • Previous experience working on agile teams (i.e., Scrum/Kanban).
  • Experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.

  • High degree of self-motivation and professionalism.
  • Excellent relationship building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Remains alert to new techniques for insights, analytics, and data visualization, and devises new ways of applying them.
