We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Property Management team. The Electrician position focuses on maintaining the reliability and functionality of electrical and related building systems in environments where ongoing client programs must continue with minimal disruption. The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to assess and diagnose complex, interconnected building systems, often in situations where documentation may be limited or unavailable. A practical, service-focused approach and sound judgment are essential to ensure building systems remain safe, reliable, and functional for occupants and users.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Journeyman Electrician with interprovincial Red Seal certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of a broad range of electrical systems
  • Demonstrated experience in the service of HVAC, DDC control and fire alarm systems
  • Basic computer skills would be an asset (Microsoft Outlook, Word, etc.)

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Desired knowledge, skills and suitability

The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications, skills and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and organizational culture. Key competencies for success in this role include:

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing electrical and related building systems

  • Assessing complex and interconnected systems to identify faults and determine effective solutions

  • Performing maintenance and service work while minimizing disruption to building occupants and ongoing programs

  • Conducting inspections to identify maintenance requirements and potential system issues

  • Managing multiple service requests and competing priorities, making sound decisions about work sequencing and urgency

  • Maintaining detailed service logs, accurate records of work performed, and cost tracking to support operational accountability

Conditions of Employment

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:

  • Journeyman Electrician with interprovincial Red Seal certificate
  • certificate of qualification issued under the Yukon Apprentice Training Actfor the construction electrician trade;
  • Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent;
  • RCMP Vulnerable Security Clearance: Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)

Job Requirements

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:

  • Travel throughout the territory,

  • Work in adverse weather conditions,

  • Use personal protective equipment.
