About the role
Position Summary
The receiver position must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more with assistance. Ability to stand, bend and move throughout the shift. Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (or more with assistance).
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment (varying temperatures).
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3-5 years of warehouse receiving experience preferred.
- Experience in project-based or commercial warehouse operations is an asset.
- Experience handling fixtures, panels, millwork, or construction-related materials is preferred.
Qualifications:
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to identify damages and discrepancies during inspection.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple inbound shipments daily.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of warehouse receiving procedures and documentation.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP systems, Smartsheets is an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and shared file management.
- Ability to review and reconcile:
- Purchase Orders (POs)
- Packing Slips
- Bills of Lading (BOL)
- Forklift certification (Counterbalance / Reach Truck) preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards.
- Commitment to safe material handling and damage prevention.
- Willingness to follow company procedures and compliance requirements.
