About The Role Reports to: Manager of Project Management Office and Operations

Exergy is seeking a Procurement Coordinator in Calgary, Alberta with 5+ years of practical experience in direct supply chain management. The ideal candidate will bring practical knowledge of a project support procurement process in a highly technical industry and its application to an agile growth company. This is a full-time employment opportunity, with the option for a contractor-based position if preferred.

Key Responsibilities At Exergy, our work is often challenging yet fulfilling. The Principal Process Engineer will directly converse with clients on their needs, guide and mentor other process engineers and EITs, as well as develop and review process engineering deliverables. This role requires a high level of accountability and includes the following key responsibilities:

  • Assess and enhance Exergy’s procurement practices by reviewing existing processes and providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Working with the Project Management Office, develop and enforce procurement policies & work processes/workflows, ensuring they are well-documented, maintained, and effectively communicated through staff training and ongoing stewardship.
  • Employ lean procurement systems for effective process control.
  • Central point of contact for materials & services procurement for all projects.
  • Create POs, track orders, follow up with suppliers, organize shipping and receiving.
  • Track inventory and develop resupply strategies as required.
  • Support project and fabrication teams to achieve project schedule.
  • Support project managers to steward project budgets.
  • Coordinate with engineering staff to lead the bid process and organize bid evaluations.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers while maintaining supplier database
  • Support account management coordinating invoices, payments and expense capture in project systems.
  • Liaise with fabrication lead to ensure effective project scheduling and project execution.
  • Organize and track all outgoing shipping coordinating with clients and logistics coordination teams.
  • Additional duties as required.

Candidates for this position will possess the qualifications outlined below:

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement, warehousing and supply chain management.
  • Experience managing procurement of piping, equipment, structural assemblies, instruments, controls and electrical equipment.
  • Experience in an industrial facility considered an asset.
  • Ability to take initiative and drive actins to completion.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive vendor and project team relationships.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability and initiative to develop procurement policies and procedures that support the needs of a growing organization.
  • Exceptional organizational skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
