Davis Dodge is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to join their team.

In this role, you will work closely with the Fixed Operations Manager to support and oversee all aspects of the service department to drive business results while enhancing customer experience.

The Assistant Service Manager will primarily work out of our Fort Macleod location but will also be required to spend some time in the Lethbridge store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading, managing, and supporting Service Advisors and Technicians to hold them accountable to achieving current business and productivity goals and improve profitability and efficiency.
  • Work with the Fixed Operations Manager to recruit, on-board and train employees while taking an active role in developing talent for the future.
  • Stay up to date on the progress of repairs throughout the day and maintain extensive contact with customers to provide changes to estimates or timelines
  • Monitor workflow in the service lane and shop to maximize efficiency
  • Prepare work orders and estimates based on customer concerns for needed and agreed-upon repairs.
  • Oversee or administer warrant claims to ensure compliance with warranty policies.
  • Speak with customers as required to explain repairs, billing and resolve complaints.
  • Work closely with the Fixed Operations Manager and General Manager to forecast volume, gross, and manage expenses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership ability and teambuilding skills to effectively motivate, inspire and manage employees.
  • A team player committed to working with leadership and employees to ensure goal alignment and achievement.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a continuous improvement pedigree.
  • Results-driven with exceptional planning, organization and execution skills.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a service department in the automotive or related industry, with some experience in a leadership capacity, is preferred.
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • A Valid Driver’s license
