The Equipment Supply Technician is a key part of a team that provides a well maintained, safe, effective, and efficient fleet of vehicles designed to give optimal customer service and patient care. Reporting to the Supervisor, Fleet, the position is responsible to ensure all ambulances are safe, effective, maintained, cleaned, and stocked in accordance with policies and procedures.
Key responsibility for the role includes:
- Operating all vehicles in accordance with all policies of MHNL
- Compiling a list of all mechanical, medical, and cleaning parts and supplies as required.
- Completing light mechanical repairs as directed.
- Ensuring all ambulances and support units are stocked in accordance with Fleet Policy and Procedures at all times.
- Completing drop-off and pick-ups of out-sourced vehicles in conjunction with specific vendors as required.
- Conducting all cleaning required to the vehicles interior or exterior in accordance to company policies and standards.
- Performing other such similar, comparable, or related duties as may be required or assigned.
Professional Qualifications & Competencies:

Have one to two years of related experience and excellent working knowledge of inventory control processes and vehicle detailing preventive maintains programs.

Have working knowledge of standard computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite).

Have completed courses in Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), and other courses related to ambulance manufacturing, repair, inventory control and cleaning or are willing to obtain these courses within a specified period.

Will be required to have a Class 5 driver’s licence or be willing to obtain such within a specified period.

Self-directed individual who displays good decision-making skills and takes initiative as needed.
-
(JOHS) Joint Occupational Health and Safety certification or be willing to obtain.
-
Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
-
Enjoy working in a computerized, paperless workplace.

Maintain and ensure proper documentation is captured on all work orders including quantity, part numbers, description and appropriate labor times.

Practice good hygiene and demonstrate socially accepted skills and graces when interacting with vendors, colleagues, paramedics and any member of the general public.
