Job Summary:

Health Hubs are a key part of Trillium Health Partners’ strategy to expand access within a constellation of care built around people. Health Hubs expand access, quality, and sustainability by integrating services around patients’ needs through innovative partnerships and a population health approach. The Health Hubs team leads the advancement of opportunity assessment and planning for hubs of integrated care that will improve population health in our community including initiatives and projects that expand access, improve outcomes, advance integrated models of care and reduce capacity pressures across the system. Reporting to the Director, the Manager, Health Hubs is accountable for planning, developing and implementing strategic projects that advance a multi-year roadmap that includes Seniors Campus of Care, hospice developments, community-based ambulatory and surgical centers, and emerging strategic partnership opportunities.

Description:

THP is looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and strategic leader to join the Health Hubs team. The Manager will work with partners inside and outside the organization, engaging with leadership, staff, community partners and external consultants to drive improvements and innovative approaches to deliver on Health Hubs priorities.

The Manager will lead and develop an agile and highly talented team and provide day-to-day direction, coaching and support to team members.

Key areas of responsibility include business case development, due diligence and deal execution; internal/external partnerships management; integrated project leadership across legal, financial, operational, stakeholder engagement and development; implementation of enabling governance structures and regulatory/government relations engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Integration

  • Provide strategic advice to Director and Senior Executives to help identify and propose solutions to complex policy, program and operational issues.
  • Work with senior leaders to identify, prioritize and make decisions on new opportunities to achieve strategic goals and priorities.
  • Lead, organize and partner across the organization, workstreams and/or functional areas to integrate and align project work and achieve strategic goals in a set timeframe.
  • Provide strategic advice, situational awareness and support integration of Health Hubs strategy to deliver on key strategic projects.

Engagement and Project Management

  • Develop and administer a project management framework, processes and tools - including the use of portfolio management and project management tools and support a community of practice for project management
  • Lead / participate in the development and delivery of innovative presentations, comprehensive reports, and proposals to all levels of the organization and external partners.
  • Conduct or oversee a variety of significant and complex assignments and projects.
  • Manage urgent, high priority and contentious issues, ensuring effective linkages and integration across the organization and partners when formulating and implementing solutions.
  • Track, monitor and escalate risks and mitigations on projects in Health Hub portfolio.
  • Monitor external environmental factors (political, economic, sociological, technological, stakeholders, etc.) and advise on potential impact to Health Hubs direction, strategy and decision-making.
  • Effectively interact with all levels of senior management, staff, committees and external vendors to carry out tasks of various sizes and scope on an as-needed basis.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and enable the Health Hubs team to deliver on key strategic projects.
  • Lead Health Hubs staffing and engagement, including recruitment, onboarding, development and retention.
  • Manage the day-to-day operational functions of the Health Hubs team, including management of performance and championing effectiveness of a highly functional and skilled team.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in public, business administration, or healthcare administration or equivalent experience required. Undergraduate degree in life sciences, business or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment or equivalent, working with dynamic teams and managing complex, large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and/or mentor people through formal or informal reporting structures.
  • Strong understanding of health care, government and hospital systems, including the Trillium Health Partners strategic plan.
  • Proactive with an ability to anticipate needs; understanding of current issues and public policy to provide strategic analysis and advice, using political acuity.
  • Demonstrates high-caliber critical judgement, strategic thinking, decision-making ability.
  • Expertise in project management, best practices and corporate level reporting.
  • Experience effectively engaging with physicians, clinicians, senior leaders, executives and Boards of Directors required.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at leading and working with high performing teams.
  • Superior interpersonal, communications skills and ability to successfully build relationships and drive towards consensus.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing ambiguity and working under pressure with tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences, including executives, administrators and clinicians.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer applications, especially the Microsoft Office suite, in particular PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Ability to work across multiple THP sites and with external partners in the region.
