Construction Site Safety Officer with Carpenter and Labour experience

We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused Construction Site Safety Officer with carpentry and site labour experience to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain a safe work environment by monitoring site activities, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions.
• Perform regular site inspections, hazard assessments, and provide guidance on safe tool and equipment operation.
• Conduct safety orientations, safety meetings and subcontractor coordination
• Ensure workers follow OH&S regulations
• Assist with carpentry and general construction duties as needed
• Complete safety documentation and incident reporting
• Additional safety training considered an asset, including WHMIS, Fall Protection, and related certifications.
• Promoting a culture of job site safety, where safety is a shared responsibility
• Preparing site safety plans, conducting hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments, as required
• Ensuring all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties

Qualifications & Experience

• *Valid Level 2 First Aid certification *
• *Carpentry/Site labour experience preferred *
• Valid Class 5 driver?s licence required
• Valid CSO designation - Preferred
• Knowledge of construction site safety procedures
• Ability to enforce safety policies and maintain site compliance
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable and dependable
