##About the role:

We are seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Executive Director, Enterprise Technology to lead Destination Canada's enterprise technology ecosystem and internal platforms. In this role, you will shape the architecture, governance, and evolution of the technology environment that enables our teams to operate effectively and deliver on Destination Canada's mission. You'll work closely with senior leaders across the organization to ensure enterprise systems, infrastructure, and integrations support business priorities, productivity, and digital transformation.

As part of the Technology & Digital Transformation leadership team, you will oversee enterprise architecture, SaaS platforms, infrastructure services, and IT operations supporting staff across Canada and our international offices. You'll also play a key role in guiding the organization's technology modernization journey, including strengthening enterprise platforms, advancing data and digital capabilities, and supporting the transition toward an AI-enabled enterprise.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal teams, business leaders, and external partners to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable technology services. You'll also work alongside the organization's security advisor to ensure Enterprise Technology incorporate secure-by-design principles and align with cybersecurity, privacy, and risk management practices.

##Key accountabilities

Enterprise Technology Strategy and Architecture

  • Leads the development and evolution of Destination Canada's enterprise technology architecture and technical roadmap aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Defines enterprise technology standards, architecture principles, and governance frameworks to ensure interoperability, scalability, and resilience across systems
  • Translates business capability requirements into Enterprise Technology supporting internal platforms and operational services.
  • Provides architectural oversight for enterprise systems, integrations, infrastructure services, and technology modernization initiatives.
  • Ensures Enterprise Technology incorporates secure architecture principles in collaboration with the organization's security advisor.

Enterprise Platforms and Business Capability Enablement

  • Provides architectural leadership for developing the organization's marketing technology ecosystem, including CRM, customer data platforms (CDPs), marketing automation, digital experience platforms, and analytics technologies, ensuring alignment with enterprise data platforms and digital capabilities.
  • Oversees the lifecycle management of enterprise platforms including productivity systems, enterprise applications, integration services, and infrastructure platforms.
  • Ensures enterprise systems are reliable, interoperable, and aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Works closely with leadership to ensure enterprise platforms support innovation, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Guides system design, integration architecture, and platform modernization initiatives.

Information Technology Operations and Technical Services

  • Provides leadership for enterprise IT operations including infrastructure management, system administration, and end-user technology services.
  • Oversees delivery of reliable, secure, and high-quality technology services for Destination Canada staff in Canada and international offices.
  • Directs the Technical Services team responsible for service desk operations, endpoint management, identity administration, and operational platform support.
  • Ensures lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure including maintenance, upgrades, patching, monitoring, and operational continuity,
  • Supports disaster recovery planning and operational resilience of enterprise technology platforms.

Security, Risk and Operational Resilience

  • Collaborates with the organization's security advisor to ensure enterprise technology environments align with cybersecurity policies and risk management frameworks.
  • Ensures enterprise technology architectures incorporate appropriate security controls and identity management practices.
  • Participates in incident response coordination and supports operational risk mitigation activities.
  • Ensures enterprise systems comply with privacy, data protection, and regulatory requirements applicable

Vendor, Contract and Service Management

  • Leads vendor strategy and contract management for enterprise technology platforms, infrastructure services, and managed service providers.
  • Participates in procurement processes including development of RFP requirements and vendor evaluations.
  • Manages vendor performance through service level agreements and operational performance reviews.
  • Coordinates internal teams and external partners to ensure effective technology service delivery.

Organizational Enablement, Change Management and Adoption

  • Identify opportunities to improve enterprise workflows through enhanced people, process, and technology alignment.
  • Collaborate with HR and business unit leaders to support training and capability-building programs related to system adoption.
  • Support rollout of enterprise solutions through effective change management planning and readiness activities.

Collaboration, Stakeholder Engagement and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Fosters a service-oriented culture focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with business leaders to ensure Enterprise Technology supports organizational capabilities and priorities.
  • Communicates enterprise technology strategies, risk, and operational priorities clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, partners and vendors to support cohesive technology delivery.

Innovation, Continuous Improvement and Thought Leadership

  • Stays current with emerging enterprise, security, cloud and AI technologies and assess potential organizational value.
  • Introduces new tools and practices that strengthen enterprise resilience, performance and operational maturity.

##What you need

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline; certifications in enterprise architecture or security (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA, CISSP, CISM, or cloud architect certifications with Azure or Google Cloud Platform) are considered an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, solution design, or enterprise IT transformation, including leading enterprise-scale technology implementations and modernization initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and governing complex enterprise technology ecosystems, including enterprise platforms, integrations, cloud and SaaS environments, and digital or marketing technology platforms (e.g., CRM, CDPs, digital experience platforms).
  • Proven experience leading enterprise technology initiatives from architecture through implementation and organizational adoption, including collaboration with cybersecurity teams to ensure secure-by-design architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise integration, APIs, middleware, data architecture, identity management, and cloud environments, particularly Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience establishing enterprise architecture standards, technology governance frameworks, and vendor management practices, including participation in procurement and vendor evaluation processes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT operations, infrastructure services, service management, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge of privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance, and data protection standards relevant to Federal Crown corporations.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability to guide cross-functional teams, influence decision-making, and communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled enterprise technologies, machine learning, and modern digital ecosystems, with a demonstrated commitment to continuous learning in emerging technologies.

  • Experience supporting AI- or analytics-enabled architectures is an asset.
  • Training or certification in Agile methodologies is an asset.

##Compensation

Salary range:$142,000 - $184,600

Within the range, the base pay offered is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills and relevant education/experience. Please note starting salaries for new hires typically fall between the minimum and mid-point of the range, to support internal equity and allow room for progression as employees grow and excel in their roles. The range above reflects base pay only and does not includethe competitive at-risk pay program**andbenefits**that we offer!

  • This role follows a hybrid work arrangement, where work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week. Please note the work arrangement is subject to change.
