Director of I.T. Business Partnerships
About the role
Position Overview The Director of IT Business Partnerships for Energy, Recycling & Corporate plays a critical leadership role in aligning business strategy with digital enablement across the business units and corporate functions under their scope. As the senior IT business partner for these business units, the incumbent is responsible for developing strong relationships with executive leadership, shaping digital and data-driven roadmaps and ensuring the execution of transformative technology initiatives, including the strategic delivery of Kruger’s ongoing IT transformation roadmap (Project Atlas).
This position guides the alignment of enterprise capabilities and business unit priorities, enabling Kruger’s corporate functions and services to modernize systems and processes, while also supporting operational efficiencies and sustainability outcomes. A key focus of this role includes driving standardized technology practices, maximizing shared value across business units, and acting as a liaison between corporate leadership and the broader IT organization.
Responsibilities Business Partnerships & Strategic Alignment
- Act as the primary IT leader for Kruger’s Energy and Recycling business units, as well as corporate services and functions, serving as the trusted advisor for digital strategy and execution.
- Lead business engagement sessions to identify key initiatives across HR, Legal, Communications, Finance and Procurement.
- Translate business needs into prioritized digital initiatives that enhance operational visibility, reporting, compliance, and sustainability.
- Ensure alignment of functional roadmaps with enterprise architecture and the long-term strategic vision defined under Project Atlas, Kruger’s five-year IT transformation roadmap. This includes coordinating platform evolution, digital capabilities, and technology investments to support enterprise-wide modernization and business objectives.
Portfolio Governance & Transformation Leadership
- Provide oversight and program governance for technology investments in scope, including Project Atlas and other assigned platforms.
- Ensure demand intake, prioritization, and governance processes are transparent and effective.
- Drive progress reporting, value realization tracking, and alignment with corporate KPIs and transformation objectives.
- Support change management activities to ensure stakeholder engagement, adoption of new processes, and alignment with transformation goals.
Process Simplification & Capability Uplift
- Champion simplification and automation of core corporate, Energy and recycling processes through digitization.
- Ensure cohesive capabilities across financial systems, HR platforms, sustainability tracking, and procurement.
- Advocate for harmonized tools and workflows that promote compliance, consistency, and performance.
Stakeholder Engagement & Organizational Change
- Lead change management strategy and stakeholder communications for key transformation initiatives.
- Represent Energy, Recycling, and corporate functions and services on enterprise steering committees.
- Foster collaborative partnerships with other business partner leads and the broader IT function.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Support engagement with dedicated IT support and analytics teams to deliver seamless execution.
- Cultivate an inclusive, high-performance culture focused on service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Guide professional development plans for team members aligned to emerging technologies and evolving business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- MBA or industry-recognized certifications (e.g., PMP, Prosci), considered assets.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of progressive IT or business transformation leadership experience.
- Proven record of delivery across HR, Procurement, or other programs.
- Experience with ERP and enterprise systems, especially SAP ECC or S/4HANA, HRIS.
- Experience leading complex transformation initiatives across multiple corporate functions.
Skills And Ability
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and executive presence.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align enterprise architecture with divisional needs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead within matrixed environments.
- Strong program governance, prioritization, and value tracking skills.

LANGUAGES
- Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.
Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
