About the role

FIELD SERVICE SPECIALIST The Field Service Specialist will be responsible for providing field services, diagnostics and repairs for Demers and Crestline vehicles (ambulances, buses and specialty vehicles), as well as other makes and models used in the ambulance and commercial bus sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Travel across Ontario and Canada to provide maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of ambulances and commercial buses.
  • Provide service documents to customers.
  • Document and collaborate with the Warranty Administrator to recover warranty costs from manufacturers or suppliers.
  • Assist Demers-Crestline's supply chain, materials, and customer service teams in identifying customer needs and finding quick solutions.
  • Identify business opportunities with customers.
  • Gather information and data on market trends, competition, and customers.
  • Work with the customer service team to ensure proper planning and organization of travel to serve customers at their site.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of facts regarding customer service issues.
  • Create service records detailing issues, corrective actions, and warranty commitments.
  • Attend and participate in regular meetings of the technical support team.
  • Travel regularly to key accounts in Ontario, attend customer meetings and attend vehicle deliveries with sales as required.
  • Travel periodically to major suppliers, bus manufacturers, and trade shows.

Required Skills

  • Valid driver's license and driving record in good standing
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of customer service experience in the field of mechanical services and repairs
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and understand plans, system diagrams, parts and maintenance manuals
  • Knowledge of light trucks, their components, classifications, applications, causes of failure, progressive damage and component abuse is an asset
  • Experience as an automotive technician, RV technician or similar is an asset
  • Experience in handling work orders and warranty claims is an asset
  • Ability to communicate in French is an asset
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required
  • Ability to provide clear information for the customer to understand issues, and recommended actions.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate specifications and warranties from various vehicle manufacturers.
