Position Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Digital Media Coordinator will support the creation and dissemination of social media communications. This includes developing and publishing content across all our platforms, regularly reviewing trends, data, and analytics, as well as research and administrative duties. Working with a cross-functional team, the successful candidate will coordinate multiple projects, think strategically, respect tight deadlines and work well under pressure. This position is primarily focused on external communications. This position is a combination of remote and in-person work.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supporting Surrey Place’s social media channels by developing, scheduling and deploying social media strategies and daily social content.
- Informed by analytics, leads monthly social media planning and stays abreast of social media trends.
- Assisting in the development of quarterly social media reports.
- Overseeing day-to-day moderation and managing of social media communities and ensuring that community-based inquiries and communication are answered within the established timelines.
- Collaborating with internal departments to identify and create social content.
- Providing writing support for Surrey Place’s external-facing communication, including but not limited to social media and web articles.
- Ensure content follows best practices and adheres to brand voice and guidelines.
- Support the management team in planning and executing communications initiatives and campaigns to increase awareness, engagement and conversions.
- Coordinating incoming communications requests from internal departments, gathering content and preparing content copy for designers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- 2 years’ previous experience working as a communications professional or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
- Demonstrated understanding of social media principles and practices.
- Strong writer with well-honed editing skills to support the production of high-quality social media content, including short-form video. materials. Proficient use of English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- A self-starter with proven problem-solving and decision-making skills and a proven ability to identify and resolve issues while working with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage relationships; excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to situations, manage multiple and conflicting demands, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Canva, Sprout Social, or other content management tools.
- Experience with website analytics tools (i.e., Google Analytics) and leveraging data to support strategic priorities.
- The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Proficient with MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
