Role Vision
The Chick-fil-A Shift Leader supports the overall operations of the Kitchen during a shift, working closely with the Team Leader to ensure smooth and efficient service. They assist in managing team performance, maintaining operational excellence, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role acts as a bridge between team members and the leadership team, providing hands-on support and guidance throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
Operational Support:
- Oversee daily shift operations to ensure all areas of Back of House, are running smoothly.
- Ensure all tasks are completed according to Chick-fil-A standards, including food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Monitor and address operational challenges in real-time
Team Leadership:
- Act as the point of contact for team members during the shift, providing support and
guidance in absence of team leader.
- Motivate and coach team members to deliver exceptional service and achieve operational goals.
- Assist with training team members on procedures, tasks, and customer service standards.
- Encourage teamwork and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
Communication & Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with team members and team Leader about shift updates, team performance, and operational needs.
- Relay important updates or changes from leadership to team members.
- Assist with smooth transitions between shifts by completing task as assigned by team leaders.
Administrative Duties (as needed):
- Monitor inventory levels during the shift and address shortages if necessary.
- Assist with break schedules and ensure labor compliance.
- Be available to work operationally in positions when required.
- Track shift performance metrics and report updates to the team leader
- Other duties as assigned by Team leader
Required Skills & Qualifications

Must have 1-3 years of leadership experience and/or a Bachelor’s degree/College diploma

Must be legally permitted to work in Canada
-
Must possess a calm but authoritative demeanour
-
Must possess the ability to handle a highly demanding and fast-paced restaurant
-
Must possess the ability to provide clear and concise communication
-
Must possess strong personal characteristics; primarily humility, and a willingness to collaborate and learn
-
Must possess the ability to use and train on various technologies including iPads and POS systems
-
Must possess or pursue a food handlers’ certificate before resuming position
Working Conditions
-
Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time

Must be available to work Mondays - Saturdays

Must be available to work Saturdays
