Job Description
The Director of Food Services holds a strategic management position and is responsible for developing and implementing food service solutions tailored to customer needs and preferences. Reporting to the General Manager, he or she supervises and manages food services at several locations, where customers order meals prepared according to a set menu. The incumbent ensures that operational standards are maintained, customer satisfaction is achieved, and food safety and quality standards are met.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage multi-site operations in remote areas on a rotating schedule.
- Ensure operational performance in accordance with Aramark standards and programs.
- Monitor operations, conduct evaluations, and implement action plans to optimize food and service quality.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers at all levels of the organization.
- Identify opportunities for service expansion.
- Coach managers, supervisors, and front-line employees.
- Train teams on presentation, quality, cost control, and cash management.
- Develop operational forecasts and explain variances.
- Manage accounting functions related to operations.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- University degree (bachelor's degree required).
- Certification in dietetics or experience in managing dietitians (an asset).
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in food service management.
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
- Mastery of food costs and usage.
- Keen sense of quality and experience in quality control.
- Solid experience in food service.
- Ability to write professional documents that comply with linguistic standards.
- Applied mathematics skills (probability, statistics).
- Proven leadership and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Flexibility and ability to respond to changing customer needs.
- Advanced computer skills.
