Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic Senior Commercial Account Manager who is enthusiastic about business development. You will leverage your interpersonal strengths and established network to generate new business opportunities while managing a portfolio of existing clients.

EMPOWERING YOUR IMPACT Throughout The Week, You Will

  • Connect with entrepreneurs, clients, and prospects to understand their business needs, offer guidance, and explore if BDC services can support their goals. Your insights and advice will be invaluable to their success.
  • Implement the Business Centre's action plan by fostering growth and retention of current clients, while welcoming new ones, and building a pipeline of business opportunities. Your efforts will directly contribute to the thriving business community.
  • Review and present financing proposals with thoughtful credit judgment. Your expertise will help shape the future of businesses.
  • Engage with the local business community by participating in various networking events within the Region of Durham. Your networking skills will open doors and create lasting connections.

What We Are Looking For We believe in the power of diverse talents and experiences. Here is what will help you thrive in this role:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, commerce, or a related field will provide a solid foundation.
  • An enthusiasm for business development, and up to 3 years of experience in a financial institution, or a relevant field will drive your success.
  • A well-established network in Durham’s business community.
  • An ability to identify business issues and needs will be crucial in supporting entrepreneurs.
  • A collaborative nature and organizational skills will help you build effective and lasting relationships with peers, business contacts, and external partners.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills, and a purposeful approach.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English will enable you to communicate effectively.
