Location: Calgary, McTavish office
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week
Starting Salary: $60,000 per annum

Support Specialist, you will play a part in developing, recommending, and implementing IT strategy and solutions across the organization. While performing the functional role of IT Support Specialist, you will demonstrate the AirSprint values in everything you do. As a member of the IT & Security Operations team, you work collaboratively with other members of the IT department to ensure tickets are resolved according to service level agreements.
In this role you will:
- Develop expertise in AirSprint’s operations and its software systems.
- Provide responsive and high-quality support to technology users, prioritizing requests by urgency and delivering accurate solutions.
- Offer helpdesk support for hardware, software, and office equipment at all locations, including remote and on-site assistance.
- Support remote access solutions.
- Troubleshoot network issues, including WAN, LAN, routers, firewalls, and security, with guidance from the IT & Security Operations Manager.
- Install, upgrade, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain computer systems and software.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 applications, Azure, Intune, third party applications, and VOIP systems. Review system logs, backups, and email quarantines for discrepancies.
- Document all support activities in the ticket tracking database.
- Manage technology asset inventory, procuring hardware or licenses as required.
- Image workstations, assist with PC hardware and software installation.
- Assist in computer deployment and migration efforts; process the provisioning and deprovisioning of new or departing employees.
- Create and update process documentation.
- Participate in researching, developing, and implementing new technologies, contributing to the IT department’s continuous improvement program.
- Provide technology and basic security hygiene training to team members and employees as needed.
- Handle highly confidential information and situations with integrity and professionalism.
- Complete low-voltage cable termination and equipment installation such as data lines, switches, keystones, and access points.
- Available for on-call rotation after hours.
- Open to a flexible schedule outside the regular office hours including evenings, weekends, early mornings, and overtime.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A two-year diploma in Information or Computer Systems or a degree in related field, with relevant certifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to explain complex topics or resolve technical issues to people with varying degrees of technical understanding, as well as experience providing support to executive users.
- Minimum one year of experience in a Help Desk, System Admin or Desktop Support role, which must include administration of Active Directory and a mix of on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
- Intermediate proficiency in administering Microsoft 365, Intune, and Azure.
- The ability to work safely in close quarters or at heights such as on ladders, lifts, rooftops, or in plenums.
- Demonstrated experience with low-voltage cable termination and equipment installation.
- An active Alberta Class 5 GDL or equivalent driver license with a suitable vehicle.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Transport Canada Security Clearance and Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) for the duration of employment.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience or training in one or more of the following areas:AWS
- SSO Implementations
- PowerBI and/or other data visualization platforms
- AI/ML Strategy
- Experience with information technology in the aviation industry
- Programming languages: SQL, JavaScript, HTML, APEX, Python
- Experience administering Freshservice and Salesforce
