HSSE Coordinator – NCSO
Industrial Operations | Marine Construction | Energy Projects Fort Saskatchewan | Calgary | Fort McMurray | Travel Across Western Canada & Ontario
We’re looking for a high-performing NCSO who leads safety in the field—not just from a desk.
This role supports major operations across oil & gas, mining, municipal infrastructure, and industrial marine construction projects. You’ll work directly with crews, supervisors, and leadership to identify risks, investigate incidents, and drive a strong, proactive safety culture.
This position is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, confident around heavy equipment and industrial operations, and respected by crews on site as well as in the office, shops and yard.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading field inspections and hazard identification
- Supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Conducting internal safety audits and COR audit support
- Reviewing FLRAs, JHAs, and operational safety documentation
- Delivering site orientations, safety meetings, and training
- Tracking safety metrics and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Working directly with operations to strengthen safety culture across sites
What You Bring
- NCSO certification
- Strong knowledge of OH&S regulations
- Train the Trainer certifications
- Minimum High school Education or equivalent
- Experience working in industrial environments such as oil & gas, marine construction, mining, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects
- Confidence working with operators, supervisors, contractors, and senior leadership
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability
- Valid driver’s license with clean abstract and the ability to travel to project sites
- Proficient with computers and smartphone applications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write and speak English at a high level
- Must participate in functional fitness evaluations and screening for drugs (including cannabis), alcohol and other controlled substances
- Clean Criminal Background Check
- At least 18 years of age
