Job Summary:
The Burner\Torch Cutter will be required to torch\cut ferrous material into proper shipping dimensions. This will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Torching plate material, pipe, I beam, H beam, cable, and oversize equipment
  • Work will be performed out doors in all seasons (extreme cold, extreme heat) dependent
  • Records activities as required by Management
  • Keeps work area clean
  • Observes and reports any safety issues
  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Three months to 1 year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check

Assets:

  • Patience and previous torch cutting experience- knowledge of the material that will be cut

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

This yard offers truck and rail service

The Fort St. John yard is located at 9623 78th Street. This yard provides Industrial Obsolete and Demo Scrap Services, Demolition and Dismantling Services, Mobile Bailing Car Crushing and Shearing, Rail Car Loading and more. Truck and rail access are both available.

Our Prince George yard located at 1004 Eastern Street, offers much of the same great Ferrous Metal Recycling and Non-Ferrous Metal Recycling services as our other 3 yards. With services such as Stevedoring, Trucking Boxes and Roll off Container Services, Certified Destruction Capabilities and more, this yard also provides truck and rail access.
