The Role We’re looking for a Senior Risk and Compliance Analyst who’s ready to go beyond checklists – someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, governance and business strategy. In this role, you’ll help shape how we manage IT risk, drive compliance across modern frameworks and help build a culture where security and innovation move in sync. This role is a remote role anywhere within Canada and has the option to work out of any of our Canadian offices, if preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead proactive risk assessments across cloud, infrastructure and application environments – spotting control gaps early and turning insights into action
- Be a trusted advisor to the technology and business leaders – helping teams balance innovation with control through smart risk-based decisions
- Drive audit and compliance readiness by coordinating assessments, streamlining evidence gathering, and simplifying remediation across multiple frameworks
- Translate complex risks into clear, actionable narratives for leadership – connecting technical realities to business impact and revenue protection
- Develop and track key risk and compliance indicators (KRI/KCI) that tell the real story of our tech resilience and risk posture
- Champion a culture of accountability and awareness, empowering teams to “think risk” as part of everything they build, deploy and deliver
- Assess and manage third-part risks – ensuring vendors, partners, and platforms meet our security and privacy expectations from day one
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, data privacy and internal audit teams to create one connected view of IT risk across the enterprise
- Stay ahead of the curve by keeping an eye on emerging threats, new regulations and evolving technologies to continuously raise our compliance game
Skills & Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Legal or related field with previous experience in IT risk or security role
- A strong foundation in IT risk management, cybersecurity and compliance frameworks (ISO27001, NIST, SOC2, PCI DSS, CIS or similar)
- Proven experience leading risk assessments, audits, or control testing in complex, hybrid technology environments
- Ability to translate technical risk into clear business insight that influences leadership and drives smart decisions
- Has a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to work with technical teams – not against them!
- Deep curiosity about emerging tech and evolving regulations, with a passion for staying a step ahead
- Strong communications skills and a natural knack for building trust and alignment across departments
- Experience with cloud security, data privacy laws (GDPR, PIPEDA) or third part risk management
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CISSP, or CISM (asset) are preferred
