Job Summary
As a Red Seal Electrician at Sasquatch Mountain Resort, you’ll join a collaborative and safety-focused Lift Maintenance Team responsible for the electrical integrity of our chairlifts and magic carpets. You’ll work hands-on with our millwrights and operations teams to ensure reliable and efficient lift operation, while also supporting general resort electrical needs through repairs and new installations.
This is a key front-line position that requires strong troubleshooting skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach. Your work directly contributes to the guest experience and the overall safety of our resort operations. Job Specifications
- Wage: Based on experience
- Schedule: Full-time, including weekends and holidays
- Skill Level: Red Seal Certified Electrician
- Reports To: Outside Operations Manager

Job Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical systems in commercial and institutional settings
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and specifications
- Coordinate work with other trades and site supervisors
- Ensure compliance with the BC Electrical Code and safety protocols
- Communicate clearly with Supervisors and Managers to keep projects on track
- Deliver work that meets SMR’s quality and safety standards every time
- Practice safe work procedures at all times
- Adhere to all company operating and maintenance procedures
- Be of sound mind for the entirety of your shift
- Regular work weeks can be expected to up to four, 10-hour night shifts per week
- Complete daily vehicle log sheets and checklists
- Perform prestart up inspections as per pre-established checklists
- Perform shutdown and post operational procedures including necessary documentation regarding machine maintenance
- Ensure all machinery is safely and securely stored at the end of each shift
- Operate during designated hours set by the Operations Team, to complement the resort operational hours
- Practice proper radio protocol as per company policy
- Maintain a professional and respectable appearance
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Red Seal Certified Electrician (required)
- Previous lift maintenance or ski hill operations experience would be considered an asset
- Ability to understand construction drawings and specs
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must provide a drivers abstract with less than 4 demerits and no prohibitions
- Must be able to make quick decisions/use considerable judgement regarding safety as well as multitask and anticipate issues
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Must be able work outside in a mountain environment for long periods of time
- Must be willing to perform alternate functions from time to time, both within and outside of the assigned area, particularly during peak periods such as holiday weekends
- Strong communication skills
- Must be adaptable, have problem solving skills, and be a team player across all departments
- Stress Management, Patient, and have great Time Management Skills
