The Afternoon Shift Warehouse Assistant is responsible for safely contributing to the overall effectiveness of East Penn Canada's warehouse operations by performing a variety of activities relating to product finishing, order assembly, and general warehouse support.
This role directly contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and accurate finishing of products and orders, while maintaining compliance with all company and provincial safety and environmental standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Spend the majority of shifts working on finishing line, labeling product to customer specifications
- Sort, mark, and place items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to product specifics such as size, type, style, or SKU
- Assist in replenishment of pick bins as required
- Utilize multiple technology systems to accurately label finished products, package, and stage customer orders
- Occasionally assist with loading and unloading of products
- Actively participate in general housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse environment, ensuring work areas are clear and free of hazards at all times
Experience, Skills & Competencies
- A minimum of 1 (one) year of experience in picking/packing, labeling, or assembly position within a warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, or related environment
- Familiarity with inventory handling, including sorting, stocking, and replenishment of products
- Strong understanding of, and ability to use various technology tools related to warehousing, such as warehouse management systems, RF scanners, and labeling systems
- Experience with manual material handling and ability to frequently lift products weighing up to 50 lbs
- Extremely strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimal supervision requirements
Other Considerations
- Hiring range for this role is $19.00 to $21.00 per hour plus afternoon shift premium (exact salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
- This position is supporting the afternoon shift with hours of work running from 3:00pm to 11:30pm Monday to Friday
- This is a 100% on-site position, working out of East Penn's Courtice Head Office location (reliable transportation to and from work is required, as public transportation options are not available for this area)
- This role requires some flexibility in schedule to accommodate occasional overtime requirements during periods of increased order volume
- All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of thorough background checks, which may include criminal, credit, professional references, and/or education/credentials verification, depending on role
