Your Impact:
The Global Security Team at OpenText is focused on protecting our people, property, and operations worldwide.
As part of the newly established Protective Services program, the Program Manager will support the development and execution of integrated, risk-based strategies across Employee and Executive Protection, Travel Risk Management, Corporate Event Security, and Threat Assessment and Investigation.
Based in Toronto, Ontario, and reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Security – Protective Services, this role is key to advancing a proactive, intelligence-led approach to personnel security.
As a Program Manager, Global Security, you will:
- Support the implementation and execution of employee/executive protection, travel risk management, and global event security programs, aligning with global objectives and industry best practices.
- Assist in developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and risk methodologies for protective security programs.
- Design tools and methodologies to assess, mitigate, and monitor global risks impacting executives, traveller’s, and events.
- Conduct corporate travel risk assessments and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Deliver timely action plans for security and safety concerns related to global corporate events.
- Provide reports, briefings, and recommendations on geo-political risks, including terrorism, civil unrest, natural disasters, and criminal activity.
- Providing timely and accurate reports, briefings, and recommendations regarding geo-political risks, including those related to terrorism, civil unrest, natural disasters, and criminal activity.
- Coordinating with local, national, and international security agencies to mitigate risks during travel and event planning.
- Leverage technology and threat management platforms for real-time monitoring and risk assessment.
- Lead security awareness initiatives, training, and content development (presentations, newsletters, online resources).
- Support security initiatives with project management, KPI tracking, financial reporting, vendor sourcing, and leadership reporting.
What you need to succeed:
- Service-oriented, customer-driven approach with strong business acumen and vendor management experience.
- Education in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of corporate operational security experience, including executive protection, travel risk management, and event security with international scope.
- Proven ability to operate in fast-paced global organizations and support high-profile risk mitigation programs.
- Advanced knowledge of personnel security threat and risk management methodologies and principles.
- Experience supporting/coordinating event security initiatives, including global event participation.
- Familiarity with OSINT tools, social media analysis, and monitoring of high-risk countries for security threats.
- An interest in following geopolitical and security trends in key regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC).
- Strong skills in developing/maintaining security processes, TRAs, procedures, and training programs.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, report-writing, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work across time zones, respond to emergencies, and travel internationally as required.
