About the role

The Comm Crew Landscaper works hands-on in landscaping, performing grounds maintenance duties, construction & moving jobs, and operating various landscaping tools. In this position, you will be working outside in all weather conditions for extended periods.

CommCrew is a social enterprise operated by Communitas, which provides employment training to people with disabilities and/or mental health challenges, while providing landscaping and maintenance services to Communitas locations and external customers. Some of the landscape and property maintenance services we offer include hedge and tree trimming, leaf collection and removal, exterior pressure washing, window washing, parking lot and driveway cleaning, lawn maintenance and seasonal clean-up.

Position: 1 Temporary, Part-Time (28 - 35 hours per week).

This position is set to end Nov. 13, 2026, but there is potential for additional hours, term extension or recall in Spring.

Here's what we need from you:

  • Must be physically able to lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs and stand for lengthy periods of time
  • Experience in landscaping, and using hand and power tools
  • Must provide own steel-toed boots (Canadian Standards Association approved)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Must be reliable, punctual and able to take initiative
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in work routines
  • Ability to model appropriate behaviour for trainees at CSE (conduct, work performance, compliance with policy and procedures, professionalism, integrity, etc.)
  • Possession of a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s license
  • Ability to tow enclosed trailers, utility trailers, and drive work pick up trucks
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Salary:
