About the role

The position holder is responsible for the effective management of customer accounts to ensure outstanding service to our clients and partners while contributing to the company’s financial strength. They oversee daily collection activities, ensure proper payment application, and reconcile customer accounts as well as manage their credit. They must also provide financial and operational information to the various divisions served by the department and contribute to process optimization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead improvement initiatives to reduce customer friction and optimize cash flow.
  • Analyze and develop tools related to financial transactions to support decision‑making (payment terms, discounts, DSO, etc.).
  • Propose new processes and controls to mitigate risk in accordance with accounting standards and act as the main liaison with IT for related projects.
  • Implement effective collection strategies.
  • Monitor delinquent accounts and take necessary actions to ensure payment or negotiate payment plans.
  • Establish and analyze customer credit limits based on current policies and ensure procedures are followed.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to manage high‑risk customer accounts.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and apply payments when necessary.
  • Proactively identify errors, communicate with customers, and reconcile their accounts.
  • Manage the accounts receivable insurance file.
  • Produce monthly customer account reports and performance indicators.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA designation or progress toward obtaining is preferable.

EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) to six (6) years of experience in management accounting or finance, preferably in a similar role.

SKILLS AND ABILITY

  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify priority issues.
  • Autonomous, proactive, and demonstrates leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent data and system management capabilities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Knowledge of SQL and JD Edwards is considered a key asset.

LANGUAGES

  • Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.

Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them. Kruger has taken all reasonable steps to avoid imposing English language requirements, including assessing the actual language needs associated with the duties to be performed, ensuring that the language skills already required of other employees were insufficient for the performance of those duties, and limiting as much as possible the number of positions with duties requiring English language skills.
