Position: Intermediate Accountant

NuWave Research Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to support the financial operations of our growing organization. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records while contributing to job costing, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and month‑end close activities.

The Intermediate Accountant combines strong accounting fundamentals with hands‑on operational exposure, helping ensure reliable financial information while supporting the ongoing development and improvement of accounting processes. This position is on‑site at our Burnaby location and offers the opportunity to grow alongside an innovative, technology‑driven company.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and perform full‑cycle accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries
• Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely close
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including reconciliations, cost analysis, and preparation of supporting schedules
• Assist with job costing and project accounting to support operational insight and financial reporting
• Contribute to financial forecasting and budgeting, including updating actuals and preparing supporting schedules
• Prepare and maintain weekly cash flow reports to support short‑term liquidity planning
• Prepare schedules and documentation for external accountants, including year‑end reporting and audit support
• Participate in the documentation and continuous improvement of accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting practices
• Collaborate closely with operations, HR, and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate coding, documentation, and timely processing of transactions

Credentials & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, with exposure to full‑cycle responsibilities
• Strong Excel skills, with comfort working in detailed schedules, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Working knowledge of job costing, project accounting, and financial forecasting
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems; Microsoft NAV / Business Central experience is an asset
• Payroll experience is considered an asset
