About the role

Job purpose

Reporting to the Manager, Commercial FP&A, the Financial Analyst will support forecasting, budgeting, performance management, and standardized reporting for the Commercial FP&A pillar. This role is central to FP&A's evolution from a reporting-focused function to one that shapes decisions and provides clarity to the business — with a particular focus on standardizing and automating the financial reports, models, and routines that form the backbone of the planning cycle.

The Analyst will spend a meaningful portion of their time rebuilding manual, recurring deliverables into efficient, repeatable processes: streamlining variance analysis, month-end reporting, forecast rollups, and management reporting packages. This is a high-learning seat for someone early in their career who wants to understand the fundamentals of how a P&L is planned, measured, and explained — while materially reducing the low-value manual work that holds the team back from insight.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve standardized financial reporting — variance analysis, month-end close packages, forecast rollups, and management reporting — with a bias toward automation and repeatability over manual rework
  • Apply advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, Power Query, pivot models, structured references, and lookup/array functions) to replace manual processes with scalable, auditable tools
  • Partner with the Commercial FP&A team to deliver budgets, forecasts, month-end reporting, product line profitability, SG&A, and inventory analysis — ensuring a single, trusted version of the truth across deliverables
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset — identify inefficient processes, challenge how things have always been done, and focus on standardization before automation
  • Develop a deep understanding of the business drivers behind the numbers — how Commercial decisions flow through to revenue, margin, and working capital — and translate that understanding into clearer reporting and analysis
  • Support the broader FP&A team on ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and cross-pillar initiatives as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; recent graduate to 1–2 years of relevant experience

  • Actively pursuing (or intending to pursue) a CPA, CFA, or equivalent finance/accounting designation

  • Advanced Excel skills are essential — including complex formulas, Power Query, pivot tables, and a working knowledge of how to design reporting tools that scale; exposure to Power BI, VBA, SQL, or similar is a plus

  • Genuine passion for understanding the fundamentals — how a P&L is built, how forecasts come together, and why the numbers move the way they do

  • Enterprise thinking — curiosity about how decisions in Commercial, Operations, Pricing, and Procurement connect, even early in your career

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, transparency, and accountability

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a monthly close and planning cadence

  • Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and financial statement mechanics

  • Comfortable operating within clear governance and ownership models, with a bias toward a single, trusted version of the truth

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently in a fast-paced and transforming environment

  • Strong written and oral communication skills — able to explain what the numbers mean, not just what they are
