**Front End Software Engineer – Cloud Modernization (Mortgage Domain) **
**About the Role **
We’re looking for a Front-End Developer to join our team on a transformative cloud modernization program. This is a rare opportunity to work on a mission- critical initiative that is reshaping how mortgage applications are processed, underwritten, and delivered across the bank.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team rewriting a legacy, business rule-heavy monolithic application into a cloud-first, event-driven, microapp architecture. If you thrive in complex environments, enjoy working with world class software architects and have a passion for building cutting edge web applications, this role is for you.
**Is this role right for you? In this role you will: **
-
Develop and maintain robust, reusable components using React and TypeScript.
-
Implement responsive and accessible designs using CSS/SCSS and modern layout techniques.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality features.
-
Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility.
-
Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous integration workflows.
-
Apply accessibility standards to ensure inclusive digital experiences.
-
Troubleshoot and resolve complex UI issues across various environments.
-
Stay current with front-end trends and advocate for best practices.
-
Contribute to a culture of learning, innovation, and collaboration.
**Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have: **
-
React – 5+ years of hands-on experience building dynamic, component-based web applications.
-
TypeScript – 5+ years of development experience and strong proficiency in typed JavaScript and scalable front-end architecture.
-
CSS/SCSS – 5+ years of hands-on experience with advanced styling and a deep understanding of responsive design and layout techniques.
-
Experience with HTML5, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern front-end tooling (e.g., Webpack, Babel).
-
Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
-
Extensive knowledge of accessibility standards and experience implementing inclusive design.
-
Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
-
Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library).
-
A proactive mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for clean, maintainable code.
-
Comfortable working in an Agile environment, and familiar with Agile development practice
-
Must be a self-starter, fast learner with positive attitude and team player
**What's in it for you? **
-
We have an inclusive and collaborative working environment that encourages creativity and curiosity and celebrates success
-
We provide you with the tools and technology needed to create meaningful customer experiences
-
You'll get to work with and learn from diverse industry leaders, who have hailed from top technology companies around the world
-
We hire you for your talent — not just a job — so you can grow with us. We’ll equip you for success not only in your role, but also in your career as a whole
-
Dress codes don't apply here: being comfortable does
-
Access to thousands of online and in-person courses so you can hone your current skills, or learn new ones
-
A competitive rewards package that includes a base salary, a performance bonus, company matching programs on pension and profit sharing, paid vacation, personal & sick days, medical, vision, and dental and much more
