CATEGORY MANAGER - Fashion Plumbing (Hybrid - St. Thomas, ON Office)

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Category Manager is responsible for the respective category planning. This includes managing the category throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing category and customer requirements, defining the category vision, and working closely with other managers, to deliver winning products. The Category Manager's job also includes ensuring that the category efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifying category gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share and improve customer experience
- Evaluate market competition and position product line so that it appeals to customer
- Develop product pricing by providing input into future product plans by becoming the expert on what competitors are doing in the marketplace; helping to shape future product plans and direction.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to deliver with quick time-to-market
- Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes
- Obtains product market share by working with sales to develop product sales strategies
- Assess product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating sales call results
- Perform product demos to customers.
- Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings.
- Understand, support and adhere to company’s health and safety policies, programs and procedures by communicating and promoting health and safety awareness
- Maintain a safe workplace
- Wear Personal Protective equipment as required on the shop floor
- Comply with the company policies and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)
- Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as required
- Report unsafe conditions as soon as possible
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional training or certification in Product Management is considered an asset.
- 3–5 years of experience in product management, preferably in a consumer goods or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, from ideation to market launch.
- Customer-focused with the ability to translate needs into strategic product plans.
- Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working across departments such as marketing, sales, and R&D.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
- Effective communicator, capable of influencing stakeholders and articulating product value.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with strong planning and execution capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with a clear understanding of business objectives and market dynamics.
- Proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable.
- Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and Adobe Products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Category Manager is responsible for the respective category planning.
