Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and customer service-orientedShift Engineer – Building Operationsto join our team on a full-time basis.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Operate and monitor HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
- Perform daily inspections of base building systems and common areas
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules and complete corrective repairs
- Respond to tenant requests
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and take corrective action
- Coordinate and supervise contractors and service vendors on site
- Maintain logs, work orders
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and building codes
- Responding to emergency calls and participating in on-call rotations
- Assist with minor carpentry, electrical (light bulbs/tubes), and plumbing repairs, will be required, as will snow removal/salting, painting, and power washing
Hourly wage is at $34.90.

Qualifications
- Position is physical in nature and requires regular lifting, bending, reaching, stretching and squatting.
- Minimum 2 years previous work experience in a similar capacity is preferred.
- Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing practices is required.
- Flexible availability including weekends, evenings and holidays, as needed.
