We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Shutdown Coordinator. Please note this role will be based in Labrador West requiring candidates to work a Monday-Friday schedule. We do not offer FIFO arrangements for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drive and promote a safety culture ensuring compliance with all safety policies.
- Work with planning and project teams to develop detailed shutdown plans, create master schedules, and coordinate activities across multiple departments and external suppliers.
- Assist planning and project teams with securing the necessary personnel, equipment, and materials for shutdowns.
- Gather input from various teams, identify potential risks, complete risk rankings, and prepare contingency measures to address those shutdown risks.
- Lead team of multi-discipline supervisors during shutdown execution periods.
- Ensure that all work adheres to safety standards, quality specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the shutdown budget, track expenses, and seek opportunities for cost reduction without compromising safety or quality.
- Organize and facilitate daily coordination meetings during shutdown execution. Work closely with various departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide daily report outs on shutdowns with focus on key performance indicators
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent work ethic and strong organizational skills.
- Proven leadership experience in maintenance and/or shutdown coordination in industrial and/or mining environments.
- Ability to manage multi-discipline teams and allocate resources effectively under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Working knowledge of mechanical operations including safety, maintenance, equipment, and staff utilization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with others.
- Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of asset management principles and maintenance operations.
Education and experience:
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification or relevant Engineering Degree.
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Supervising, Planning and/or Shutdown Coordination in an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and MS Project.
