This position is required to work in-person at various pools across the city. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.

Winter 2024 employment runs until January -September 2025 and positions include:
- Senior Instructor, RCC Programs (aquatics) – starting rate of pay $29.43/hour (Grade E)
- Specialized Program Instructor (aquatics) – starting rate of pay $25.92/hour (Grade D)
Responsibilities & Requirements
Senior Instructor, RCC Programs - Aquatics: Responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality advanced leadership courses in a safe enjoyable environment. Advanced levels of aquatic leadership programs include but are not limited to: National Lifeguard Instructor, Standard First Aid Instructor, Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainer and HIGH FIVE Trainer to the certifying agency’s expectations and evaluation criteria. Must have the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Examiner status for leadership levels is preferred.
Specialized Program Instructor - Aquatics: Responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering Bronze courses according to the certifying agency’s expectations and evaluation criteria that is enjoyable for all participants. Responsible for the safety and well-being of registered participants at all times. Must have the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience.
Aquatic Leadership Conductors minimum age is 15 with current qualifications to teach/examine course being taught, Bronze Examiner, Standard First Aid with CPR C and current National Lifeguard. HIGH FIVE - Principles of Healthy Child Development certification considered an asset.
Police Check Requirement
This position requires the successful candidate to provide a clear criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening at their own expense.
