Who you are
- 5–7 years of experience in data migration, ETL development, or data integration roles
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as FlatFile, Talend, Fivetran, or similar platforms
- Experience with cloud-based ETL services such as AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, or Google Cloud Data Fusion
- Strong experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server); familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB is a plus
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Solid understanding of data quality principles including profiling, validation, de-duplication, and reconciliation
- Experience integrating data from multiple complex sources such as flat files, APIs, and legacy systems
- Familiarity with OLTP systems, transaction processing, and maintaining data consistency and integrity

- Ability to work a hybrid schedule - Monday/Friday WFH, Tuesday - Thursday, in office

What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Onboarding Engineer to join our team and lead complex data migration projects, ensuring the smooth transfer of large volumes of data from multiple source systems to a variety of target environments (e.g. , MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
- In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing ETL pipelines, as well as ensuring data quality and consistency in highly transactional OLTP systems
- You will work closely with both technical and business teams to ensure seamless integration, performance, and data integrity throughout the migration process
- Design, develop, automate, and optimize ETL pipelines to migrate data from various unknown or legacy source systems to target systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server using tools such as FlatFile, GraphQL mutations, and REST API endpoints
- Define and implement data migration strategies to ensure large volumes of data are migrated with minimal disruption to business operations, including incremental load processes, full data loads, and error-handling strategies
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within ETL pipelines by leveraging query optimization, indexing, parallel processing, and partitioning
- Implement and maintain data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation processes to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of migrated data
- Monitor and troubleshoot ETL pipelines during migration, providing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
- Collaborate with product managers, software engineers, implementation, and customer success managers to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions
- Document the full data migration process including pipeline configurations, transformations, data mappings, and known limitations; provide support and training to internal teams
- Continuously assess and improve ETL workflows by staying current on tools and technologies and applying best practices
