Job Description
The Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream position in the Sociology of Race and Ethnicity. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will begin on July 1, 2024.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct innovative research in the sociology of race and ethnicity.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sociology.
- Supervise graduate students.
- Contribute to the academic life of the department and the university.
Qualifications
Required:
- A PhD in Sociology or a related field by the time of appointment.
- A strong record of research and publication in the sociology of race and ethnicity.
- Evidence of teaching excellence.
Preferred:
- Experience with diverse teaching methods and curricular development.
- A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in research and teaching.
