When quoting and executing projects, the team works proactively to prevent unexpected impacts on client budgets or orders, promoting trust and long-term partnerships. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Designer and Drafter role based in Winnipeg, MB. The individual in this position will design electrical control panels and systems, prepare detailed electrical drawings and schematics, and support panel layout and wiring documentation in accordance with industry standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with project managers and engineers to clarify requirements, interpreting specifications and P&IDs, updating documentation throughout the project lifecycle, and ensuring designs meet safety codes and client standards. The role also involves reviewing existing drawings for accuracy, assisting with bill of materials and panel labeling, and providing technical support to manufacturing and commissioning teams as needed. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in electrical design and drafting, including creating schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD or similar design software. Solid understanding of industrial control systems, PLC-based panels, and related components such as motors, drives, relays, breakers, and instrumentation. Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices for industrial panel design and fabrication. Strong technical documentation skills, including organizing drawings, maintaining revision control, and preparing bills of materials. Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with engineers, project managers, and shop personnel in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality expectations. Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Design, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered. Experience in industrial automation, panel manufacturing, or similar environments is an asset; familiarity with PLC programming concepts is beneficial.
