About the role

West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. is a Canadian gold exploration and development company focused on restarting and expanding the historic Madsen Gold Mine in the Red Lake District of Northwestern Ontario. In addition to advancing the Madsen Mine toward sustainable production, the company is developing nearby high-grade gold deposits to support future growth. The Mill Operator safely operates mill equipment and circuits for the efficient processing of ore.

About the Candidate

Strong Commitment to safety standards and operational excellence Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. Physically fit and capable of performing demanding mill conditions. Mill Common Core Modules will be considered an asset. Committed to continuous improvement and adherence to company policies and provincial regulations.

Expectation of maintaining high housekeeping standards

3+ plus years in milling environment High mechanical aptitude. Demonstrated ability to share knowledge gained with others and the ability to solve problems.

Able to perform physical work such as shovelling, liftin gup to 50 pounds

Able to work a 12-hour shift on a 14/14 day and night schedule.

Other duties as assigned

Able to work in a dusty, noisy environment and able to recognize hazards and perform work without taking on risks.

Able to assess risk and/or seek help to work safely

Ability to be flexible in job tasks and responsibilities so that work is balanced between team members. Experience in operational circuits (Grinding, leaching, reagents, CND, tailings, crushing, elution & control room).

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mill processing circuits. Your primary duties will include ensuring that all operational activities are carried out safely and effectively, while consistently meeting production targets. Your commitment to safety and efficiency will be critical in maintaining a productive work environment.

Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines and ensure activities are conducted in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) and regulations, environmental standards along with company specific procedures and policies. Support the mill operations Supervisor in the shift-by-shift operation of the mill Safely operates mobile equipment such as track skid steer loader, forklift, rock truck, amongst others. Observe mill production monitoring equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations Record safety, operational and production data in accurate and legible circuit log sheets Cleans up spillage complying with environmental and safety policies Maintain a high level of housekeeping in work area Monitor reagent delivery and addition systems. Operating and monitoring various circuits in the processing plant as required by the supervisor. Circuits include Crushing, Grinding, Leaching/Elution, Reagents, Detox and Tailings. Inspect the circuits regularly to detect any trouble spots and have them corrected as quickly as possible. Ensure the safe & efficient operation of all areas in the mill and report any unsafe conditions to mill supervisor immediately. Develop an understanding of all the mill circuits through training, reading, and hands-on experience. Always maintain a clean work area.
