Location: Montreal, Quebec

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models that encompass components, assemblies, and fully toleranced and annotated two-dimensional drawings tailored for manufacturing, inspection, calibration, and assembly processes within the repair shop. Additionally, design, sketch, analyze, and oversee the production of tooling, machines, jigs, and fixtures essential for various Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) programs related to engines and components.
  • Collaborate with machine shops to fabricate tools and work closely with Operations to test new tools.
  • Perform basic stress analysis calculations on tooling designs and develop interim solutions for damaged or unsafe equipment and tooling.
  • Determine the requirements for tools and machines across all areas of the plant while ensuring compliance with program cost and schedule requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to equipment and tooling, develop preventative maintenance plans, and train personnel as needed. Serve as a technical liaison with outside vendors regarding tooling issues.

Required Skills:

  • Mechanical, aeronautical, materials, manufacturing or equivalent engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of Three (3) years relevant experience or equivalent
  • Member or eligible to become a member of the “Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec”
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc… Excellent communication skills in English (verbally and in writing)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in manufacturing processes, tooling maintenance and shop floor interaction.

• Familiar with jet engine design process and tooling definition release process.

• Experience in commercial CAD software such as SolidWorks.

• Knowledge of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, precision grinders and experience in commercial Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.

• Experience in commercial enterprise resource planning software such as Quantum control.

• Excellent communication skills in French (verbally and in writing)
