About the role

PURPOSE SUMMARY

The Field Experience Associate functions within a team of peers with shared responsibility for planning and execution of Trips, Visits, and Virtual Connections for Canadian partners & supporters to experience Compassion’s work in our field countries. Specific area of focus within these three portfolios (trips, visits, virtual connections) may vary based on team composition and seasonality so flexibility and adaptability in task switching is an important element of the position. This role plays a critical role within the Field Experience Team, and their global peers, in facilitating exceptional opportunities for supporters, partners, and program participants to engage more deeply in the shared mission of releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

WHAT YOU DO MATTERS

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a liaison between the National Office staff and Canadian supporters in relation to trips, visits, and virtual connections.
  • Become a subject matter expert on Compassion Canada’s programs as well as opportunities to deepen supporter engagement and increase acquisitions.
  • Maintain an accurate and timely record of all visits and trips you are working on through use of corporate relationship & project-management systems with careful attention to detail and to accuracy.
  • Ensure logistical and legal requirements are met for every supporter or partner participating in a visit or trip.
  • May be asked to consult and/or assist Compassion Canada staff with work-related travel plans,
  • Participate in visit or trip cost recovery process.
  • Find inventive ways to delight our Canadian neighbours as they participate in a visit or trip.
  • Assists the department/team with other duties as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills; especially familiarity and competency within Microsoft Office Suite, and Asana Project Management platform.
  • Strong administrative skills and not deterred by clerical work.
  • Passion and experience in providing exceptional customer service and solving complex problems.
  • Ability to multi-task and strong proficiency in a computerized remote-based working environment, with colleagues spread across all global time zones.
  • An aptitude to see where opportunities are available to deepen engagement, streamline processes, and increase the breadth of supporter engagement with our ministry.
  • Committed to team and personal excellence, with the ability to take individual initiative while functioning within a supportive and collaborative team.

WHAT YOU BRING MATTERS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of secondary school education (Grade 12) is required.
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, International Development, Communications, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in event coordination, travel administration, customer service, or cross-cultural engagement, ideally within a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
  • Experience managing detailed logistics for domestic or international travel, including coordination with multiple stakeholders across time zones.
  • Strong administrative background with proven ability to maintain accurate records, track projects, and ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook, is required.
  • Experience using project management software such as Asana and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with supporters, partners, and international colleagues.
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment is considered an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This role is classified as Remote Workplace Staff, with work performed primarily from a home-based office equipped for reliable digital connectivity.
  • Standard working hours align with Eastern Time (ET), with flexibility for occasional early morning or evening meetings across global time zones.
  • Work involves frequent use of computers and digital platforms, requiring sustained focus and accuracy in a remote setting.
  • Domestic and international travel is not required but may occasionally be considered for training or team collaboration purposes.
  • Occasional overtime or flexible hours may be needed during high-volume travel seasons or event coordination periods.
  • Regular virtual collaboration and online engagement are required to maintain strong team connection and alignment.
  • Work is performed in accordance with Compassion Canada’s remote work standards, emphasizing digital-first collaboration, security, and productivity.
