The Healthcare Human Resources (HHR) Branch of the Ministry of Health leads and supports health workforce planning and policy; incentive and recruitment programs, strategic initiatives and advice; and labour relations.
The Research and Analysis Unit within the HHR Branch is seeking a highly motivated, proactive, and results-oriented individual with exceptional data analysis and modelling skills. This position will play a lead role on a high-performing team responsible for forecasting, analyzing and assessing the HHR needs for the province.
In addition to leading data analysis and management, this position will work closely with a variety of health, post-secondary education and government stakeholders to identify, gather, analyze, and interpret a variety of datasets for the purposes of workforce planning.
The ideal candidate will have expert and practical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, statistical analysis software, research and analysis techniques, data presentation, and workforce forecasting and planning. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in programming languages (e.g., SAS, R, or Python) and knowledge of health policy issues and public policy development processes.
The ideal candidate will have applied experience working with HHR forecasting models and practical knowledge of government decision-making structures and processes. Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would have been gained through the completion of a graduate degree in economics, statistics, or applied mathematics, combined with work experience in a similar role.
