The Role Reporting directly to the Division Manager, the Electrical Estimator is responsible for full-cycle estimating — from lead qualification through turnover to operations.
This role is about more than pricing drawings. It is about:
- Understanding the client’s real needs through ongoing communication
- Creating clarity before a job starts
- Identifying opportunities to add value
- Protecting margin by reducing operational risk
You will play a key role in shaping our pipeline, strengthening client and vendor relationships, while continuously improving our estimating systems.
What You Will Own
- Build relationships and communicate with customers to develop clear scopes of work that are aligned with project goals and value proposition
- Build relationships and communicate with vendors for the procurement of project materials
- Prepare timely, accurate, detailed estimates
- Read and interpret drawings, specs, and tender documents
- Identify risks, gaps, and scope issues early
- Support operations with purchasing and change order pricing
- Ensure smooth turnover to operations
- Maintain a live pipeline report
- Track estimate vs. actual performance
- Present weekly estimating updates
- Deliver post-job variance summaries
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our estimating systems, processes and database
Experience What We’re Looking For:
- 10+ years commercial electrical experience
- 2+ years estimating experience (design-assist and TI preferred)
- Strong knowledge of CEC and local codes
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Accubid, or equivalent tools
- Strong understanding of labor productivity and installation methods
- Knowledge of contracts and construction conditions
